We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join the Engineering team in Brazil (100% remote).
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building and evolving the Java microservices architecture that powers our digital solutions, making sure that data, machines and systems communicate in a scalable, secure and efficient way.
Requirements
Must have:
· Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices in Java 21+ with Micronaut or Spring Boot, following OpenAPI and Swagger standards.
· Integrate external systems and third-party providers through OAuth2, JWT, webhooks and REST APIs.
· Implement event-driven messaging patterns with Apache Kafka and work with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, ensuring performance and data consistency.
· Maintain and evolve the internal libraries that contain our domain business rules, writing unit and integration tests with a TDD approach.
· Run and deploy services on AWS (S3, Secrets Manager, Elastic Beanstalk), containerising applications with Docker and contributing to CI/CD pipelines, preferably on GitLab CI.
· Collaborate with QA, Tech Lead, Product Owner and the engineering teams to define and deliver robust, secure and scalable solutions.
Strong plus:
· You have solid, senior-level experience in backend development with Java 21 or higher.
· You have hands-on experience designing and running microservices architectures in production with Micronaut (strongly preferred) or Spring Boot, including OAuth2, JWT and REST API integrations.
· You have strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, Liquibase, JDBC and MongoDB, as well as Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture.
· You have practical testing experience with JUnit 5, Testcontainers, Mockito and WireMock.
· You are comfortable with AWS and cloud environments, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Git and the Git-flow workflow.
· You are autonomous and well organised, able to work remotely and collaborate effectively across Brazil and Italy.
· Fluent English, both written and spoken, for clear communication in an international environment.
Nice to have:
· Knowledge of ISO 11783-10 and ISOXML.
· Experience with Apache Cassandra and Redis.
· Experience with Groovy, Grails, TypeScript or Node.js with NestJS.
· Experience with resilience patterns such as circuit breaker and retry.
· Knowledge of Elastic APM and AWS CodeArtifact.
· Familiarity with IoT data flows and telemetry.

Compensation
CLT: 14.000 BRL - 16.000 BRL per month (commensurate with experience)
